Tabula Rasa (2004)

Goofs

Tabula Rasa

Lost

Edit

Continuity

In the car-chase flashback, the red truck flips over, off the hill and the tailgate breaks off. The next scene shows the truck in upright position, with the tailgate still on.
Sawyer's hair is considerably longer than it was in the pilot, revealing that several months went by between the filming of the pilot and remaining episodes, although there was no jump in the storyline.
When Locke finds Vincent the dog, he ties him to a tree, then walks over to Michael and Walt. As Locke is walking, Walt's head is facing away from his dad. When Locke is talking to Michael, Walt is facing his dad. Then, when Locke walks away, Walt is facing away from his dad again.
In flashbacks to the airplane clash, the flight attendant says "The captain has switched on the fasten seat belts sign," but in the first episode she says "The pilot has switched on the fasten seat belts sign" in what is clearly the same message.
The bandage on the Marshal's head disappears once between cuts after Michael pushes him back on the ground.

Factual errors

The farmer tells Kate that he saw her photo in the post office, and that her capture would result in a $23,000 reward. Australian wanted posters are usually in the police station (post offices never have them), and normally do not specify rewards.
When Kate is captured in Australia, the road center line markings are yellow. In reality, Australia's road markings are white.
In Australlia farms or ranches are called stations; especially sheep stations like the one in Kate's flashback.

Revealing mistakes

When Kate is in the car with the Australian farmer, the image was horizontally flipped to appear how Australian cars have right-side drivers and left-lane driving. As the U.S. Marshall's GMC truck pulls alongside, the "C" from the grill logo is visible in the farmer's rear view mirror when its reflection should be horizontally flipped.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When the farmer says, "You've been here for almost three months now, and every time I ask you," to Kate, it cuts, showing the farmer from behind saying "you get that look on your eyes," but his mouth isn't moving at all during the last sentence.
When Charlie helps Claire with her bag, Claire remarks, "So you guys hiked all the way up that mountain for nothing," and in the next shot she keeps talking, but nothing is heard.

Plot holes

The US Marshal is shown pursuing Kate in Australia and even arresting her, using his side arm. He then escorts her onto the Oceanic 815 flight back to the USA. In reality, he would not have any jurisdiction in Australia. He would need to work with Australian law enforcement to have her arrested, and then there would be a long extradition process to follow before she is put on an airplane to the USA.
