Very Good Episode
hogwrassler13 July 2020
I just watched this episode on The Cowboy Channel and it is a very good one. The Ranger and Tonto assist a lady sheriff in rounding up the outlaws. Marjorie Lord plays the law lady, who was appointed to the position after her husband sheriff was murdered. Peter Hanson is also in this one and he was a stalwart supporting player in 1950s TV. The episode has the Ranger speechifying about women's rights. Of course, in the end, it all works out like you know it would. But when I first saw this episode as a seven year old, that nasty villain really had me worried until the last commercial break.

Good Episode

Right after I malign The Lone Ranger (in order to underscore the relative superiority of Alias Smith and Jones) for its acting or lack thereof and slim production values, along come several pretty good episodes on "COZI TV"; including this one. I perked up when I saw the name of Marjorie Lord, the attractive (2nd, after Jean Hagen) TV wife of Danny Thomas, but I digress.

This whole episode shines, not just in the acting, but in the story line of a woman sheriff widowed by the gunning down of her husband, who was the former sheriff. Although the petite lovely obviously holds an insanely tough position appointed by the Governor (at her request?) she will not relinquish it until her husband's killer is found and brought to justice.

Somehow the Lone Ranger's preaching is limited and does not seem too out of place in this episode. than in others. Definitely worth catching.
