- John Reid: Yes, they were brave and they won't be forgotten. I've spent a lot of time thinking. For everyone of those men I'm going to bring a hundred law breakers to justice. I'll make that Cavendish gang, and every criminal that I can find for that matter, regret the day those rangers were killed. Tonto, from this moment on I'm going to devote my life to establishing law and order in this new frontier to make the west a decent place to live.
- Tonto: Here guns to kill badmen.
- The Lone Ranger: I'm not going to do any killing.
- Tonto: You not defend yourself?
- The Lone Ranger: Oh, I'll shoot if I have to. But I'll shoot to wound, not to kill.

- Narrator: This is a story about one of the most mysterious characters to appear in the early days of the west. He was a fabulous individual, a man whose presence brought fear to the lawless and hope to those who wanted to make this frontier land their home. He was known as the Lone Ranger.
- Whitey: They're pretty smart hombres, you know.
- Vince Collins: Yeah?
- Whitey: We've tried to get them before. It didn't pan out.
- Vince Collins: I wasn't with ya then.
- Narrator: Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear when the West was young and adventure lie at the end of every trail.
- Vince Collins: Even if you overtook them, they outnumber you.
- Ranger Captain: Mister, the Rangers are used to long odds.
- Butch Cavendish: When I get through around here, it's gonna be a long time before any ranger outfit patrols in this section of the country. We're gonna make this something they won't forget.
- Butch Cavendish: Jerry, you tell the boys I'll shoot first. That'll be the signal to open fire on the rangers.
- Jerry: Right.
- Butch Cavendish: And Jerry, when a man goes down, I want led pouring into him until he looks like a sieve. You got that straight?
- The Lone Ranger: If a man must die, it's up to the law to decide that - not the person behind a six-shooter.
- Tonto: That right, Ke-Mo Sah-Bee.
