When Clark offers to paint higher up on the barn and takes the brush from his father, there is clearly no paint on the brush, and yet he starts using it as if there was.
When Superman flies home, as he's coming up behind his father painting the barn, you can see the imprint of the wires brushing against his cape. You can also see the clips on the harness at his hips under his cape for a brief instant.
