Revealing mistakes
When Charles returns to the schoolhouse, Mr. Applewood asks why he's back again. Charles explains that he brought the homework which Laura forgot. However, there is nothing in his hands.

Continuity

When Mr. Applewood gives his strict new rules of the classroom, he orders the students to write them down as their first assignment. However, a wide scan of the classroom shows that some of the students in the first few rows are reading. They aren't writing anything down.

Revealing mistakes

When Charles returns to the schoolhouse, Mr. Applewood asks why he's back again. Charles explains that he brought the homework which Laura forgot. However, there is nothing in his hands.

Miscellaneous

One of Mr. Applewood's rules is "No one is to leave their seat without permission." But Nellie leaves her seat to pass a note right in front of his eyes. It is possible that because Harriot invited Mr. Applewood to dinner that he was on the Oleson's "good" side and overlooked the infraction.
