- Two half-brothers decide to try a new scheme by themselves to rob the Dodge City State National Bank. However, a new alarm bell in the bank and a wise Earp expecting them pose problems for the men successfully getting away.
- The outlaw half-brothers Matt and Clint Dunbar decide to rob the Dodge City State national Bank alone rather than with their gang. They have robbed several banks including one in Wichita but Earp has no good description of them. There has already been multiple unsuccessful attempts to rob the bank so the bank installs an electric bell that the clerks can trip to sound an alarm the law and others can hear. Clint Dunbar arrives in Dodge City posing as a carpet and cloth drummer. Matt sporting a long beard robs the bank threatening the president with a bottle of nitroglycerin. He stashes the money in a sample case in the back of Clint's wagon but Deputy Gibbs stops Clint from leaving town. He is forced to return to the stable where he hides the money in a feed bin. Matt returns to Clint's hotel room where he shaves his beard to change his appearance. Clint was asked to stay at the stable but his leaving puts Earp on alert about him and the other man to leave a horse there who was the robber. Gibbs stakes out the stable catching Matt trying to retrieve the money. Clint then hatches a plan to free Matt forcing Earp to match wits with him.—Anonymous
