RULE NUMBER ONE; DO NOT LET LUMPY DRIVE!
Wally and the gang have to attend an out of town track meet, and since he doesn't have his license yet --why not let "experienced" Lumpy drive?
Amazingly! Ward agrees to let Lump drive... and y'all know something is going to go wrong. More over, Eddie joins the ride and the guys take a short cut and get STUCK.
Actually, this is one story where everybody works together --- and it probably would have been a smoother ending -- if there wasn't a witness?
Just who can that be? This story is rather similar to the "flat tire" episode, if you recall, and there will be another episode in Season 6 where Lumpy acidentally bumps into Ward's new car. Stay tuned.
Pretty good story, with lots of memories of borrowing your own dad's car, hopefully with a better outcome than these goofy guys. Another Dick Conway classic, naturally including Lumpy and Eddie. Conway was a master at bringing out their characters.
Looks to have been filmed in the High Desert, a remote area, perhaps Lancaster, CA. It was also refreshing when the cast went on the road, such as this case, a good change of scenery, other than the classroom or Beave and Wally's bedroom.
Unfortunately, there's always a hitch.
