- Detectives Lenny Briscoe and Ed Green investigate the apparent murder of an Assistant District Attorney, Daniel Tenofsky. He was shot through the heart and stabbed 16 times while walking through a park. He was highly respected by his colleagues and had been ADA for 20 years. He led a very private life and no one knew much about him or his life outside the office. What the detectives find is that the man they knew as Tenofsky had actually stolen someone's identity and had never actually graduated from law school. As for his murder, they've traced it back to a case Tenofsky worked on 10 years before but then dropped quite suddenly. The case he was building was against a major mob figure and it's being suggested he's been bought off. McCoy doesn't buy it for a minute.—garykmcd
