Both Laramie and Wagon Train were from Revue Studios and it was only natural
that a wagon train got to Laramie. Not Ward Bond's train but one skippered by
R.G. Armstrong. Armstrong is a good man but I doubt Major Seth Adams would
ever be buffaloed into a situation that Armstrong was in this story.
While taking Hoagy Carmichael to the town doctor, John Smith and he pass a wagon train where a lout of a pilgrim Read Morgan is trying to pick a fight with the town blacksmith Judson Pratt. When Morgan draws a gun Slim Sherman draws faster. Armstrong calms the waters, but his assistant Dennis Patrick stirs them up again.
Patrick is a real slime bag, trying to stir up Morgan who's got a temper and ain't too bright. It eventually gets Morgan killed.
There's a secondary story line with King Donovan who is the acting town doctor with a bad drinking problem. He has a big hand in the events that transpire.
Nice performances from guest cast members, Armstrong, Patrick, Donovan and Jocelyn Brando as Morgan's wife.
