Makes no sense

I agree with the other reviewer here that Doug and Carrie should've just went on with the vacation as normal and worried about the mold cost when they returned home.

Spending a few hundred dollars during the remainder of the vacation isn't going to make much of a dent in that $7,000 bill anyway. The rooms and flights were paid for so the cost for the rest of the vacation couldn't have added up to all that much when compared to the mold bill.

And instead of acting like weird freaks serving Ramen and bologna to their friends on the beach instead of the nice dinner they had promised them, they could've just explained the situation and went to a lesser priced place to eat.

Besides, when they get home they could just take a loan out to pay for the repair. There's no point ruining their vacation over it.

Doug and Carrie did fill in the freak void

Warning: Spoilers
When Doug gets the call from Arthur about the cost estimate on the mold growing in the walls of their home...they put a stop on their spending while on vacation.

They should've continued with the dinner date regardless... Instead, they treat their neighbor friends with cups of noodles and bologna from a convenience store.

WHO DOES THAT!!!

When they return home from St Croux... they end up borrowing from Dougs dad anyways.

I am sure the neighbors packed up and moved out because of these two freaks as neighbors and moved back to Manhatten.
