After their bed breaks and Doug and Carrie are temporarily sleeping in separate beds, they start to like the idea of doing things alone.
Doug and Carrie's bed breaks down and as a temporary solution they borrow the beds from Deacon's children who don't need them anymore. The sleeping apart turns out to be a real eye-opener and they start to do more things by themselves. Doug Heffernan manages to break the bed when he gets on it, and now Doug and Carrie have no bed. They order a new one and have to spend the next couple of days in separate beds. Arthur discovers that Lou Ferigno gossips about everybody so he starts hiding to make sure Lou doesn't get any dirt on him.
