This is the first one that I've seen that Hank and Stevie show the forming bond (I haven't seen Catered Affair). I like the way Hank takes responsibility with Stevie and forces him to talk through his feelings. I also like Hank's relationship with Maggie. He takes care of her too. I must admit that I"m a little surprised Stevie has a job at a supermarket, seeing as how he's only 12 years old. But then, maybe things were different in Canada and in the late '80's...
I think the breakfast scene is funny, mainly because in later seasons, Hank is actually a good cook. Maybe he realized his hidden talent through his mishaps in the first season...
As far as Lou's story line goes, I wasn't too impressed with it - I don't know what it was...
But I'll still have to give this show a 10, because I love the Maggie/Stevie/Hank dialog in this one!
