And blown away was I by this debut episode pilot. Carla Gugino as 'Karen Cisco' is perfect casting. Equally good is Robert Forster as her father "Marshall Cisco'. They kinda of have the same eyes so it makes it more believable to me that they are father and daughter.

The great Bill Duke as her sarcastic boss is perfect casting. he keeps Karen at her toes but still has respect for her.

The guest stars in this episode include, Patrick Dempsey as Karen's new boyfriend who may not seem to be what he is. Dempsey does a good and believable job as Karen's new conquest. He is good-looking enough for you to believe her having a hard time thinking about him possibly being a bad-guy.

Benito Martinez, who I recently saw in a nice little short film called "The 'S' Word" (2008), plays 'Fuentes' a fellow officer who is supposedly after Dempsey and is sure that Dempsey is guilty and is thinking that maybe Karen is helping Dempsey in some capacity.

Gary Cole makes his 1st appearance as a new guy at the force but really does not have much to do in this episode. he is basically background-dressing.

The great character actor Ron Karabatsos makes a little bit cameo as a 'Hector Mercante' I remember this great actor from way back in the eighties from films like Prince of the City(1981) and Flashdance(1983) This appears to be his 'swan song because after this appearance, he literally disappeared from films and TV! He made a movie the following year and poof!Just vanished! Hasn't been seen or heard of in 7 years! What a shame, he was a great actor.

Another great character actor appears here also, Frank Pesce. I remember seeing him in countless films and TV appearances. He too was wasted in a bit cameo appearance in the background scene of the poker scene.

All in all, a great pilot to what could have been a wonderful series but what a shame it only lasted 10 episodes. :(
