When CDR Rabb is interviewing the Master Chief aboard ship, you see the Master Chief's name tag. First off, the Navy will not put MCPO on the name tag, it would be the Master Chief's Rate. BM, EN, MS, etc so the tag should have read DKCM, ENCM, MSCS, (or whatever the Master Chief's rate was) etc. NOT M.C.P.O. Also, the Navy does not use the periods. U.S.S. would be engraved USS on a name tag. The rank would not be M.C.P.O. or E.N.C.S it would be MCPO or ENCS.
While the US Navy did have submarine launched nuclear-tipped torpedoes (Mark 45 anti-submarine torpedo, a.k.a. ASTOR), they were taken out of service in the 1970's. The MK48 ADCAP torpedo uses only conventional (non-nuclear) warheads.
When Harm has figured out what happened, the new disbursing officer asks him what she should do. Harm tells her to inform her division officer. The ship's disbursing officer is the Division Officer of the disbursing division. This used to be S-4 Division a part of the Supply Department. She would have informed her immediate superior, the Supply Officer who would have then informed the XO and CO. Divisions are always being changed for better efficiency.
In the background a suspension bridge is visible at the supposed Naval Station in Norfolk. There is no such suspension bridge in or around Norfolk. The bridge nearest the NavSta in Norfolk is the Hampton Roads bridge-tunnel.
While Rabb is on the dock supposedly at Norfolk, the SS Lane Victory is clearly in the background (you can even read the name on the hull), meaning he is actually in San Pedro.
When the lieutenant opens the safe, he stops the combination on 70. GSA approved safes use a three digit combination. After the digits are entered, the dial is moved to 0 and then the safe can be opened by pressing the dial and turning an additional 5 count.
