Mimi Hines wore a then-cutting-edge fashion by designer Paco Rabanne: a dress constructed of hot pink, chartreuse and silver plastic discs connected by wire loops. Rabanne's fashions had been brought to the U.S. by Lord and Taylor department store. Fashions by Betsey Johnson for the upscale boutique chain Paraphernalia were also featured.
George Segal's secret was that the six white-collar professional men who accompanied him onto the show were members of a Dixieland band, the Red Onion Jazz Band. Segal had played banjo with the group before making it big as an actor.
At the time of this broadcast, Mimi Hines was starring on Broadway in ''Funny Girl.'' She had replaced Barbra Streisand in the lead role of Fanny Brice.
The telecast was live and co-sponsored by Crest toothpaste and Texaco gasoline.
