While translating English into Spanish, Desi mistakenly says "I got my fingers crossed," instead of the line ("I got my wires crossed"). Lucy couldn't resist pointing out his error, resulting in an unscripted on camera exchange between the two.
When speaking to the magician's assistant, Lucy reveals that her birthday is August 6th ("period"). This is Lucille Ball's actual birthday.
It is revealed in this episode that Fred's mother is still alive and that she makes the trip to New York from Indiana at least once a year to criticize Ethel's housekeeping.
"Ethel! Where's my lunch?"
This is one of a small handful of episodes in which William Frawley doesn't appear. However, at one point while Ethel is in Lucy's kitchen, there is a voice offstage shouting the above line. It's not William Frawley but someone imitating his voice. Unfortunately, whose voice it was will never be known.
