In the very next scene, they cross in front of Stark Furniture at 1324 Flower, then over to 1311, going northeast, but this is back to where they were in the first place. That is to say, where Rick parked his car, which is now no longer visible, would be to the right as one looks at the film, across the road up a bit from 1311 Flower, and yet the impression is given that they came from the other direction.
