Lewis says that some southern countries like Mexico would not have even charged Rose for killing her husband, he claims that "down there a crime of passion is considered justified". Which is not true, when it comes to "crimes of passion", like a person catching their spouse having sex with someone else and killing them in the heat of the moment, Mexico's homicide statutes are fairly similar to the United States. Both countries consider a person in that circumstance to be undergoing a "extreme emotional disturbance" which can be considered a mitigating factor when determining the charge. That doesn't mean the homicide is considered legally justified, it just means a lesser homicide charge might be appropriate, usually this means instead of being charged with murder the defendant is charged with voluntary manslaughter. In Mexico this type of killing is called "homicide by anger or sadness" and carries a sentence of two to eight years in prison.
When finding out the record setting 1,000 pound Marlin that used to be on display at the Enchanted Forest was stolen Kellerman asks "how the hell does someone carry a 1,000 pound fish out of here?". After an animal has been stuffed and preserved by a taxidermist, meaning the muscle, fat and internal organs are removed, it weighs far less than it originally did when alive. A stuffed Marlin that weighed 1,000 pounds when it was alive would only be a few hundred pounds at most.
Kellerman gives The Enchanted Forest's location as near Harrisburg, PA off I-83. It was actually located west of Baltimore on US-40 (Baltimore National Pike) in Howard County, MD.
