Summaries

  • A trio of thieves will be able to abscond with $500,000 in stolen money at midnight unless Dan and Officer Garvey can prove their guilt quickly.
  • Frank Loring, Eddie Beekman, and Wyatt Beekman robbed the Citrus Trust of $500,000 three years before and plan to flee the country with the money when the statute of limitations expires. When Eddie hits a little girl with Loring's car, Dan Mathews and Officer Garvey investigate and are surprised when John Weber (the girl's father) declines to press charges. Dan quickly deduces that Weber must have received a generous payoff. Dan learns that Eddie had been a suspect in the Citrus Trust robbery and he also learns that Eddie's girlfriend Barbara Franklin plans to leave the country with Wyatt Beekman within days. District Attorney Jason Tyler advises Dan that the statute of limitations on the Citrus Trust robbery will expire at midnight, so Dan and Officer Garvey act quickly to set a trap for the three by "inadvertently" disclosing Barbara's infidelity to Eddie. The quick-tempered Eddie Beekman reacts just as Dan had hoped.—Sam Spear
