The show begins with a sap getting taken in a rigged poker game. Apparently, there was a truck outside monitoring the game and sending information to one of the players. When the big loser finds out, he return—only to be shot and killed. Soon afterword, the man's brother (John Calicos) comes to the island and begins a one-man vigilante investigation. This is hardly a surprise, as Calicos ALWAYS plays heavies and so you expect him to track down the murderer. So it's up to McGarrett to find out the truth and stop yet another murder.
This episode gets high marks for its great pacing and plot twists. Although Calicos is technically a bad guy, he turns out to be not quite the bad guy we thought—making it not so easy to anticipate exactly where the story is going next. That, and nice supporting characters make this one of the better ones of Season two.
