When stable hand Cale is found with paralyzed legs after his horse threw him, Matt goes for help on foot, unarmed, on the dangerous prairie.
Tate Gifford, in town to pick up his dead son's horse, finds Cale has taken him for a ride. Matt searches for him when he doesn't return and finds the horse with no rider. When he does find Cale after returning the horse, he is too hurt to move and after losing his horse, Matt must work to keep them both alive and get help.—DrDOS
