- Dirty Sally becomes smitten with the outlaw Pike as he continues to heal up and the gang begins tracking Pike down. The friendship between the two grows as Pike is faced with leaving or standing his ground with the gang.
- 'Dirty' Sally Fergus (Jeanette Nolan) gets young outlaw Cyrus Pike (Dack Rambo) back to her shack and nurses him back to health over the next week. The other three outlaws from the gang are searching all around Dodge. Tom Macomb, the leader, (Cliff Osmond) has promised to tear apart the state of Kansas to find Pike. The three outlaws have already killed a local farmer for his horses (after Pike had spooked theirs in Part I, they needed to acquire horses to search). Meanwhile, Festus & Newly go out every day searching. Matt returns from a trip and he and Festus begin searching. They find the murdered farmer. Meanwhile, as Cyrus Pike gains strength, he and Sally begin to settle into a sort of uneasy friendship at first - him out of gratitude, her out of loneliness. He cooks her rabbit and they go on a picnic by a small lake. There, they talk about dreams for their lives, things they'd like for themselves. It's a very pleasant time together. He fixes up a rocking chair, and that inspires 'Dirty' Sally to take a bath! Pike says he has something to show her, and takes her to the tree, gets the money out, says he'll give it all to her. She rejects it, and his thieving ways. Angry and hurt, Pike rides off. When Sally returns home, the other three outlaws have traced Pike to her place. They break all her bottles, either by knocking them off shelves, or shooting them off the table. They slap her, trying to get her to tell them where Pike is. She says she doesn't know, which is the truth. They threaten to kill her mule, Worthless. Sally is horrified, and she tells them Pike went to Dodge (knowing if they went into Dodge, surely they would run into Marshall Dillon). They believe her, but shoot Worthless anyway. Meanwhile, Pike gets second thoughts about leaving Sally, and returns to Sally, and finds her crying over her mule. He checks the heartbeat - Worthless is still alive. Sally has the mule drink a LOT of laudenum, and Pike loads the mule into the back of Sally's wagon. They go to Dodge, and Doc says the laudenum saved the mule's life, he'll be OK. The three outlaws get into town and find Pike. He has a decision to make. Will he turn them in to Marshall Dillon - and confess to being part of the robbery?
