Louie Pheeters is convicted of killing a man when he cannot remember the circumstance of that night. Facing five years in prison, Louie has one last chance to set the record straight.

THIS SYNOPSIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. Louie Pheeters is accused of murder, but the real culprits are Otis and C. V. Fletcher. The family patriarch, Jess Fletcher, refuses to turn his sons in to Matt Dillon, even as his daughter Lydia shames her father and brothers. Louie is uncertain about his guilt, as the night in question is lost in a drunken fog, but his staunch friend Festus never wavers in his belief that Louie is innocent.
