This feels partially modelled on The Long Goodbye (1973) and it plays a bit like neo-noir film. Unfortunately, the plotting is not tight enough or plausible enough to take the proceedings seriously. Like the other dramatic entries this one could have used a better script or more levity. I do like Ward as the hardboiled "detective." And the big story beats are seedy enough to work as a escapist melodrama.
