Eleanor Audley played the role of Oliver Douglas's mother. She was actually only one year older than Eddie Albert was in real life.
Hooterville was located in Northeastern Missouri. In the beginning he was in Chicago on business when he checked out a farm for sale from an ad in a publication. They also later make reference to the farm being about 300 miles from the Chicago airport.
Green Acres is a 160 acre farm.

Gary Abrams was the show's first associate producer in 1965, and created amongst other ideas, the aerial shot for GREEN ACRES show name on the barn roof. Gary had to leave the show early due to health issues, and was replaced by Guy Scarpitta.
