At the end of the opening scene, Mr Thorpe mentions to the crew that he believes they know the manager, Cuthbert Rumbold. However, they had all discussed Mr Rumbold earlier, so Mr Thorpe had to have already known that they knew him.
In the last scene, when Mr. Rumbold is talking to Mrs. Slocombe in her room, there is the sound of a small object clanging as it hits the floor. A moment later, the cat "Tiddles" yowls angrily off camera, as a crew member has probably confiscated the fallen object that the cat was apparently playing with.
