Leaping to Conclusions (#1.4)
ComedyFan201024 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
It is time to dissect the frogs in the science class. Nikki doesn't want to do it. She wants to save the frogs and releases them. When Mr. Morton gets new ones she takes them again, but only releases hers bringing others back saying that she understands that she needs to respect opinions of others. And Mr Belding thinks that Miss Bliss wants to leave school so he gives her everything she needs for class while other teachers don't get.

I was happy to see Nikki standing up against dissection. Her character grew in my eyes. Very sad to see that others didn't care or were even excited to dissect. Step by step we will move towards more people respecting lives of other living beings and not kill them when it is not necessary.

Save the Frogs!

Warning: Spoilers
Nikki refuses to do a dissection of a frog in Mr. Morton's science class, and ends up stealing the frogs to let them go free. Nikki gets no support from Mikey, Zack, Screech, or Lisa, but Miss Bliss is on her side. Nikki is forced into doing it when she finds out her grade may depend on this dissection. Meanwhile, Miss Bliss gets pampered by Mr. Belding, when Belding sees a letter from a rival high school. I wouldn't call this one of my favorite episodes, but it is required viewing for all students. I was easily able to empathize with Nikki's grievance here. I've never agreed with dissection, and I felt Nikki had every right to feel the way she did. I even agreed with her letting the frogs go free. Dissection is wrong in my opinion. There was no punishment necessary. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but I felt Mr. Morton should have been more thoughtful to others. At the same time, this episode also provides an excellent message about how you have to do things you aren't fond of sometimes. It's a part of life, and I felt that aspect was very realistic. Miss Bliss continues to prove to me that it was a big mistake to not bring her back when Saved by The Bell commenced. Her character is great. She's not just a teacher, but a good human being as well. Her scenes with Nikki were touching. It was honestly a brilliant move to make the teenagers the main focus in Saved by the Bell, but they couldn't even bring her back as a supporting character? The funniest moment in this episode for me was when Zack gets put in charge for a while when Miss Bliss has something to attend. It's obvious to tell how amazingly charismatic Zack was. This isn't a favorite of mine, but it gets the job done powerfully.
