The series used soda instead of coffee in many scenes. When Luke pours Nicole a cup of coffee in the first diner scene, there is a layer of foam in the coffee pot.
When Lorelai and Rory are walking around the house making the list of repairs for Luke, Lorelai opens a cabinet in the corner of the living room and a camera is reflected on the glass door as she closes it.
Rory complains that if she has to watch Kate Hudson commit suicide in Almost Famous (2000) again, she wants to have Indian food. Kate Hudson's character Penny Lane took sleeping pills with booze and that would count as a suicide attempt, but she survived it. If Rory had seen it so many times before, she would've known this.
