Bloody Bride
xredgarnetx6 February 2007
Here we have a ghost story as old as the hills, reinterpreted to both comic and scary effect. A bride dies on her wedding day. Several years later, her widower is about to marry a second time. This she does not want to happen, and raises absolutely holy hell wherever she turns. Some of her poltergeist tricks are downright funny, others not so easy to take. She also decides to rid the world of Melinda for interfering. This ghost bride has no plans to go anywhere, so Melinda really has her work cut out for her. Strong acting on all parts help put this one over quite nicely. And yet again I must add words to keep the IMDb computer happy. Here's hoping these two additional lines are enough to satisfy its cravings.

A woman's marriage plans are upset by a vengeful spirit...
Doylenf21 September 2009
JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT is attending a shower for a new bride-to-be when a vengeful woman in a wedding gown wrecks havoc on the party. The woman, it turns out, died on her wedding day in a car accident while her husband survived. She's jealous that he's about to marry another woman.

That's the nub of this one, which gets a little hysterical at times--as well as overdone with the woman popping up every few minutes to annoy the prospective bride and Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt). It's one of the less credible entries in this series, almost laughable with its melodramatic overtones. Nevertheless, it's very entertaining.

Things begin to heat up when both prospective bride and bridegroom are disturbed by the spirit's vengeful antics. "Does he really think he can forget me that easily?" the ghost bride says.

"I'm trying to help," says Melinda.

"I can't have you interfering any more," the ghost says.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Trust me, you don't want to find out."

And so it goes. The suspense is now focused on Melinda and how she'll deal with the threats from the spirit. Toward the end, explanations make all of the character motivations clearer.

Entertaining, but a bit absurd in places.

An Excellent Show

Warning: Spoilers
This is another excellent episode from the first season, where Laura Regan steals the show as the ghost-bride who doesn't want her husband to remarry. Jealousy is the central theme, as even Melinda questions her husband's pre-marital experiences.

As usual, the true story comes out at the very end, and the climax results in a very happy ending for both ghosts and the living.

Not the best
NatashaJAmos201526 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
One of the weakest episodes. If Serena really loved Mark she would have wanted Mark to be happy. But it turned out they were getting married because she was pregnant but she had miscarried. And she never loved Mark it turns out she loved his best friend Josh. So why was she haunting the bride for ? It doesn't make sense.

Then we get relationship issues between Jim and Melinda where she acts all jealous because Jim emails his ex wife. It's just really unnessary actually the whole episode was not needed. Skip it on a rewatch because you won't miss much but for a ghost bride who was haunting the new bride because why?? She didn't even love the groom!
