The Mother Affair
Mrs Evans (Arlene Francis) is the overbearing mother of new student Nancy.
In fact she seems to be too overprotective of her daughter. When Mrs Berg persuades Joe to take Nancy out for the evening. Joe faces a barrage of questions from Mrs Evans.
The only solution that Mrs Berg and Maxfield hatch up is to get the widowed Mrs Evans interested in another man.
They think a college professor might suit the bill. Only on a tour of the college, Mrs Evans gets friendly with Professor Crayton. That upsets Mrs Berg a bit. She does not realise that Mrs Evans became enchanted with another archaeology professor.
This is another twee episode that is light on comedy but easy on the charm.
