Zoidberg is condemned to death for exercising his freedom
Tweekums28 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
It is Freedom Day and that means people are free to do whatever they like... well almost everything; as Zoidberg discovers when he eats the flag and has to flee to his planet's embassy as a mob intent on killing him pursue. After a trial in absentia he is sentenced to death which leads to Decapodia declaring war on Earth! With Zapp in command of Earth's forces it is only a matter of time before the Decapodians have Earths defence codes and defeat is absolute! With Earth now enslaved by the Decapodians salvation will come from an unexpected hero!

This was an entertaining episode that put Zoidberg centre stage for a change; the idea of him being condemned to death for eating a flag was as funny as it was ludicrous and gave us a chance to see another member of the unfortunate Waterfall family; this time Old Man Waterfall who unsuccessfully defends Zoidberg. Zapp's gross incompetence provided some good laughs as did the slightly manic head of President Richard Nixon.

Most vicious Zoidberg torture episode ever
ddempseylewis27 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was extremely mean spirited as it puts Zoidberg through the worst torment he ever went through in the series. The people tormenting Zoidberg were completely unlikable and the planet express crew did not really help Zoidberg out much. It also deals with a flag controversy that has become very irrelevant at the time of this episode's airing. I do not understand why adult cartoons these days have to resort to episodes where a character is tortured relentlessly often. Even though Zoidberg was tormented, the episode expected viewers to root against him and it also teaches a bad moral that standing up for yourself is wrong especially when you do it towards a government.
