a dry, overdone conclusion for an otherwise enjoyable series
rosek10219 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Almost everyone who savored the good old 1990's television undoubtedly remembers the cheesy yet irresistible quality that "Full House" provided for its 8 seasons on the air. In terms of this final episode, however, I must say that for a show that had an overwhelming number of better options for their finale (I'll elaborate on that later in this review), what they chose was dry, silly, and extremely corny for a show that could have stood to take a different direction.

It comes as no surprise that ever since the series premiered in 1987, the sweet little faces of the infamous Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen became a powerful staple in "Full House's" success. Everyone loved seeing these adorable little girls share the role of youngest daughter Michelle, and of course you had to figure that they would catapult her character to the center of this 2-part finale episode.

What could have been better than watching Michelle fall off a horse and lose her memory as the rest of the family lamented over her recovery? Well, there are a couple things: a girl for Joey, another child for Jesse and Becky, the return of Vicky...out of all the television shows I've ever watched, "Full House" is probably the one that had the most potential for something good and chose such a sour plot instead.

Cute as she was, little Michelle didn't have to be the center of everything....DJ and Stephanie really did get shortended throughout the series, and I think the finale could have been far better if their characters were emphasized a little more. Regardless of all this, however, "Full House" is a sound memory for many of us, and through its enduring cheesiness, it will always be remembered for what it was: a sweet, clean, and enjoyable show about family.

Michelle Rides Again: Part 2
studioAT17 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This does feel like the final episode (I believe the cast didn't know this at the time), and although lots of the characters don't get a very rounded ending this still is a nice way to wrap things up.

A sequel series would follow years later (Fuller House).

Abrupt Cancellation
ajscubfn19752 May 2010
Well from what I read, I believe they had to re-tape the final episode because they were planning on a 9th season, but the producers abruptly canceled it after the 8th season. I read that John Stamos was not happy because they were going to put full house on the WB network and then the other cast members just decided to move on to other things. Thankfully I have all but 3 season of full house on DVD and I just have to have enough money to get the other 3 seasons. But I truly agree they should have done something better with the ending episode. Did Steve ever get back with DJ after he showed up from prom night. It is just too bad they will never have a reunion after the original thought was quickly erased. Long live full house.

Perfect Finale!
Movie-ManDan6 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Turns out Michelle has amnesia. So the rest of the Tanners do all they can to help out. It really puts things into perspective of the rest of the family. Jesse and Joey reject their tv show, Stephanie forgives Michelle for embarrassing her, and DJ doesn't care about prom anymore. (Kimmy rummages up a date for her, its Steve!)

As any family sitcom would, the perfect ending happens. Michelle regains her memory (both Olson sisters appear on screen) and the family is thrilled. It also pulsates with love and adoration for one another. We know that nothing will ever break apart this family. I love it when the power of family is shown.

Material for season 9 was written but scrapped almost right after this aired. Thankfully we now have the sequel show. Now THAT will end even better because it got notified of its ax.

The worst possible way to end the series
schultzclan61 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
The ending of Full House is rather abrupt and is like a smack in the face instead of a real ending. Continuing from last time, Michelle has lost her memory and can't comprehend the world she's in. However, later she talks to her memory. They create an extremely unwatchable scene. However, her memory joins her and soon all is well. The episode is then buttered up and the ending comes off as very unfinished, a bit confusing (you might know this was the last episode), and stupidly. It's not even cheesy like the others, just random stupidities. The family seems so upset over the fact that she doesn't remember, but it is overkill. Then she comes down, smiling, and answers questions she conly could have with her memory. Then comes that buttered up ending with the last line being "We all live here." Then there is a family hug. It's really just sickening.

There's one way to kill a series.

hey morons: let someone thats smart end the show
qt-2627 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Michelle gets her memory back on the night of DJ's senior prom and the story ends with DJ reuniting with Steve to go to the prom. i would say at least let the girl graduate high school. in the mean time, let joey find a girl, Danny finally marry Vicky, and i want to meet Kimmy's parents. why is she always at the tanners anyway? and how come we've never met them. and if Rebecka gets pregnant again, that would be awesome. that is how i would end the series: joey engaged, Danny married, DJ and Kimmy graduated, we finally meet Kimmy's parents and Stephanie graduating from the eighth grade and looking forward to high school. and all events, except for the wedding, will become public at the graduation.

Great! Now I Hate Michelle EVEN MORE
ihala-3911419 July 2020
Why is everything is about Michelle! Why the last two episodes were about her! Why they didn't let Joey or Danny get married! There are characters that matters to us more than Michelle! I'm glad she's not on Fuller House -_-
