- Sally: Why all the cloak and dagger? Or shouldn't I be asking any questions?
- Dr. Kimble: Well, I guess you should. But I wish you wouldn't.
- Sally: Hey...
- Dr. Kimble: What?
- Sally: You have a nice smile. But it's almost as if you're afraid of it.
- Narrator: [Opening Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble walking across a college campus as he makes his way to meet his fraternity brother, now professor, Fritz Simpson] A Fugitive - a man driven by a dream. Two dreams: the daily nightmare - flight from an unjust punishment, where every town is a hostile town; and a dream of destiny, that one town's somewhere where Richard Kimble will find his freedom.
- Narrator: [Epilog Closing Narration. Viewers see Richard Kimble, who has been hiding in the baggage area of a college team bus, roll out onto the street when the bus slows for a stop sign] For Richard Kimble, the mind's eye is always open, scanning the nightmare horizon for his pursuers. He wakes from brief dreams of tomorrow's reprieve. But they are only dreams - and he runs on.
- Dr. Kimble: You're not going to leave Sally with him tonight, are you?
- Professor Fritz Simpson: Oh, he'll be asleep most of the time. This is just another experiment, Dick.
- Dr. Kimble: He isn't just another subject.
- Professor Fritz Simpson: Yeah, perhaps you're right. Anyway, she goes off at midnight and then Ken comes on. Ken is an All Conference linebacker.
- Lt. Gerard: Don't try and sidetrack me Simpson, I want Kimble!
- Professor Fritz Simpson: But you've got him! Kimble, Johnson, and the tape!
- [Gerard storms out of Fritz Simpson's lab as a tape of Fred Johnson's confession to killing Helen Kimble is played]
- Professor Fritz Simpson: Lieutenant, don't you want your killer?
- [Gerard storms into another classroom and finds Kimble, struggling to stop Fred Johnson from escaping]
- Lt. Gerard: Kimble!
- Dr. Kimble: Here's your man, Gerard!
- [Hiding in Fritz Simpson' office, Richard hears the door start to open and quickly hides in the closet as Gerard drags Simpson and Sally into the office to interrogate them about Carl Stoker aka Fred Johnson]
- Professor Fritz Simpson: Lieutenant, he's an employee of the University as we all are.
- Sally: Lieutentant...
- Lt. Gerard: Professor, I'm something of a student of psychology as well and I know when I've touched a nerve. That man in there is the man Kimble is after. Now there comes a point when coincidence ends and harboring a fugitive begins!
