Tom Skerritt's character says to David Janssen's character, "Aren't you a little bit too old for her?" meaning Kim Darby's character. Actually, Tom Skerritt is only two years younger than David Janssen.
Joshua's exhortation, "If mine eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee," is a take on Matthew 5:29 from the New Testament in the Bible. The Bible, however, specifies the right eye. He's other biblical quotation, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away," comes from the King James version of the Book of Job 1:21.
50+ years later, on a radio show being interviewed by Ed Robertson, Kim Darby said while chuckling at the memory: David Janssen was so funny. He was so funny. Not only on The Fugitive (1963). He was so funny off camera.

Each time his character is different, but, in his last two appearances, he plays the role of a druggist.
