Everyone talks as if Lewis is confirmed dead, and it is mentioned that the store is in probate after six months. Probate refers to a person being confirmed dead. The last that is seen of Lewis, he is falling down a shaft into Hell. it is never shown that he is confirmed dead, or what he died from. If he went to Hell as is shown, there would be no body or at best it would look like he was murdered. Which would have tied up the ownership for more than six months.
