NBC advertised the opening of the episode as the "funniest ten minutes" of Frasier ever.
The music heard in the background while Niles is trying to iron his trousers is from Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," composed and premiered in 1786.
In the opening scene of this episode, which aired 11 February 1999, Niles retrieves a pair of scissors from the kitchen and begins to run back to the living area. He then remembers that one is not supposed to "run with scissors" as it's considered dangerous so he slows down to a walk. In the "Cheers" episode titled "Severe Crane Damage" (S8 E18), which aired on 15 February 1990, Frasier runs around the bar twice with a pair of scissors in his hand, to prove to the bar patrons that he is 'dangerous' and a 'bad boy'.
