In Knight's (Geraint Wyn Davies), aka Nicholas Girard, recent past, he had been brought up on charges and faces the witch hunt of communism. He was the Night Curator and the Associate Professor for the Archeology Museum at the University of Chicago. "I've been tried, convicted and the hearings barely begun. Its hardly a surprise that I've been sentenced as well," he tells the questioning reporter.
Visiting the rally of Judge Norton and being cornered by the media, Knight escorts Dr. Natalie Lambert (Catherine Disher) Crown Coroner, from the television circus. Someone tries to kill them while she is driving them from the hotel, Knight gets her out before the car explodes.
In a press conference, Judge Norton steps down and addresses the poor excuse of journalism. She confesses to her affair with Reeves, to level the political strategy with her opponent. Judge Norton's life in jeopardy, her campaign manager confronts her with her betrayal to them. She tries to kill her as Knight talks her down.
