Jack runs out of petrol on the way home at night & spots a horse thief. Meanwhile there's still a bit of Boult family disagreement over Freddy's asthma treatment & Hilly turns out to be able to do mental arithmetic like a boss and play piano! Plus there are some eccentric locals with a classic car to sell, a creep trying to buy a classic he's got no business sniffing round, & the builders are still making jokes.
This is another lovely visit to FG land. The conflict, such as it is, is fairly mild. The woo is still fairly unbelievable but they are quite careful about the need to be careful if you're thinking of ditching the stuff your doctor gave you. Hilly is a delight - and honours Jack with a chance to hold the owl! - and we get to see where she lives.
If there's a let down at all, it's Harriet. Pauline Collins seems to have decided to play her with a very expressionless manner and sometimes it's like her face is just frozen, when you would expect a smile, or even a frown.
