- Cade is called in to investigate the sudden deaths of healthy teens in Normal, IL. It appears all the kids died in the throes of passion.
- In the college town of Normal, Illinois, things are most decidedly abnormal. Teens have been dying of aneurisms during attempts at having sex. Cade shows up to investigate after being contacted by teen Robbie Harlock. Posing as a state medical inspector, he talks to the coroner about the deaths and she shows him a small cyborg device that was found in the brains of all the victims. When the coroner discovers Cade lied to her, the chief of police picks Cade up and takes him to the station. Fortunately, the station is being redecorated (so there are no wanted posters on the walls) and Cade is able to convince the chief that he is really an insurance lawyer hired to investigate the latest death. Eddie discovers cyborg implant reacts to the hormones released in the brain during sexual excitement if the body has absorbed a specific B vitamin and the person's synapses are shocked, causing death. It seems like the aliens don't want these teens to have sex -- but why? And how is the B vitamin being absorbed?
