Edit

Revealing mistakes

When Basil runs up the stairs at 14:05, he touches the walls, and the walls move.

Plot holes

The doorbell goes at night and Basil complains that someone has forgotten their pass key. When he goes downstairs to open the door, he slides back two bolts before opening the door. Anyone who had their pass key wouldn't have been able to get in either.

Character error

Basil and Sybil are in bed at night's conclusion, and the clock on the nightstand shows the time as 11:15 pm. Basil then goes downstairs to answer the doorbell rung by Mrs. Peignoir who has been out drinking late that evening. After she stumbles onto Basil, Alan and Jean enter the front door. Basil attempts to quickly talk his way out of the awkward look of he and Peignoir tangled upon the floor. During his quick, long rant, Basil shouts, "Look it's 10:15 already!" When he returns to his room, the clock on the nightstand now shows 11:20 pm.
