Ok mystery without any murder

A distraught woman leaves her baby at the church. Father Frank and Sister Steve track her down, but things don't add up: when they find the woman, she claims she never had a baby.

No murder here, just an okay mystery around a baby left in a church. Father and sister spent most of time trying to look for its mother, realise others want the baby, and with their usual snooping they uncover a smart plan of ransom and double cross.

A woman being chased by some hoodlums leaves her baby behind at the church.

Father Dowling is shocked to find the baby and is determined to reunite the baby with her mother. Both he and Sister Steve believe that she is in distress.

It turns out once they find the mother, Father Dowling becomes embroiled in a baby kidnapping plot. The baby was taken from its parents by some kidnappers and a double cross was involved.

Father Prestwick returns in this one. Alaska has had enough of him.

At least the abandoned baby had a bit more twists and turns to it. Although I really did not think how the woman planned to get away with this scot free. It was a ridiculous plan but then again as this was the finale for the first series, the show itself had a sense of ridiculousness to it all.
