Cissy, don't go!
gregorycanfield21 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of this episode is not convincing, since Cissy's fiance wasn't seen prior to this episode. How obvious that Uncle Bill wouldn't want her to get married, because she was only 17 years old. I sensed zero chemistry between Cissy and her Austrian fiancee. His parents' reasons for liking Cissy weren't convincing either. The whole situation seemed to have been set up, as a confirmation of how much Cissy loved her family, and vice versa. That was good, though. If Cissy had stayed in Vienna, her character would most likely have been deleted from the show. That would not have been good at all! If Cissy left the show, any interest I would have in watching would have been gone! There is an interesting point made in this episode. As a viewer, I'm crazy about Cissy! Everyone else in the cast seemed to be just as crazy about her. There was something about Kathy Garver that reached your heart immediately. There is strong evidence that the producers of the show shared my opinion of her.

Cissy Wants To Get Married

A young man from Vienna,Karl, son of wealthy clients of Bill's proposes to Cissy.

A good Cissy episode. Bill forbids the marriage because he thinks 17 year old Cissy is too young. However he agrees to let Cissy visit Vienna with Karl and his parents. Cissy gets her hair done and gets a new dress. A trivia note-the saleswoman who sells the dress is Sebastian Cabot's daughter Annette.
