- Judy takes Robert out dancing. Everyone else thinks they're dating.
- After a discussion in Robert's patrol car, his partner Judy realizes he has no friends and doesn't hang out with anyone. So she invites him out for a night of dancing with her friends. Reluctant at first, Robert agrees to go. When they get to a club called Eta's, Robert notices he's the only white person. Everyone else is black. After Judy forces him to dance and mingle with her friends, Robert eventually feels more comfortable with them. But maybe a little too comfortable, because Robert's personality begins to change and he starts acting like he's black. Both Ray and Judy try to discourage that, but in a nice way.
- When Robert's partner, Judy (Sherri Shepherd) confronts him about his plans for the night, he reveals that he has none. Robert says he had dinner plans with Mike and Geoff, but Judy knew those are just his nephews. He claims that he is sick of the whole dating scene and mostly hangs out at his brother's house.
Judy offers to take Robert out to a bar that she frequents, with her friends, and Robert agrees. Ray is jealous that Robert is going out on a date. Judy picks up Robert at Ray's where he was having dinner. Marie and Frank also come over just as they are about to leave. Meanwhile, Marie thinks that Robert and Judy are dating and tries not to freak out. Marie tries very hard to pretend that she doesn't know and notice that Judy is African American.
Judy takes him out dancing at her regular bar Eta's and he likes it. He goes overboard to fit into her group of African American friends such as Sareesa (Shelly Robertson). At first Robert is very hesitant to get on the dance floor, but once he does, he realizes that everybody loves his dancing. Robert changes his clothes and looks like a pimp. He changes his dialectic to sound very ethnic. Everyone notices it and Frank even calls him out on it. Frank understands that in ethnic talk using cuss words to address someone means that you are praising them. Frank calls Robert a "Jackass" and calls Ray "Ugly". Robert feels that for once he is feeling comfortable in his life with his friends, and his family is not being supportive.
Judy tries to tell him about it and instead of going dancing together as they had originally planned, Judy asks him to come to dinner with her alone, without any of her friends. Robert thinks Judy is asking him out on a date and is uncomfortable with that since Judy is his partner.
He takes Ray along to ruin the evening. Robert leaves Ray and Judy alone, when he goes to find the waiter. Judy tells Ray that she wanted to meet Robert alone. Ray tells Judy that Robert is not looking to date her. Judy laughs in his face and tells Ray that Robert is acting too ethnic and is making things weird for everyone. Judy says that Robert is spending way too much time with her friends, and it is making everyone uncomfortable. She leaves asking Ray to break the news to Robert as Robert tends to be too sensitive. She does not want Robert to feel depressed or mopey and hence asks Ray to handle the communication.
Judy leaves as soon as Robert returns to the table. At first Robert believes that she left as she got offended by Ray, but then Ray tells Robert the truth. Ray makes Robert realize that they are Italian and not African Americans. Robert is devastated to learn this, but Ray picks him up saying that Judy truly considers him to be his friend and he will always have that. Robert still feels that he is freak in the family, while Ray fits right in with everyone.
