- Enterprise finds out the marauder was piloted telepathically by an Aenar, a subspecies from Andoria.
- Analyzing the data brought back by Trip and Reed, T'Pol discovers the marauder is being remote controlled by a telepresence. She believes Enterprise is capable of making their own unit, which can disrupt the controls, but a strong telepath is needed. T'Pol and Phlox also discover the pilot was Andorian. The Andorians find out the bio pattern is that of an Aenar, a highly telepathic ice-dwelling subspecies. Archer and Shran descend to the surface of Andoria to visit their compound. Meanwhile Senator Vrax is starting to lose face. Admiral Valdore is convinced things can be still turned around. He plans to destroy Enterprise with two drones, both controlled by their pilot. On Enterprise Trip seems to be distracted at work. He's having trouble adjusting to the new situation with T'Pol.—Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)
- T'Pol researches the data that Trip and Reed got from the Drone, and finds that the ship is telepathically controlled by an Andorian. Shran receives the analysis from Andor and informs that a highly telepathic but pacific subspecies called Aenar is remotely controlling the marauder. Together with Trip and Phlox, T'Pol builds a tele presence unit to interfere with the Drone while Archer and Shran try to convince the Aenar to help them since they need a powerful telepath to operate the unit. They discover that the local Gared was abducted and may be helping the Romulans; however his sister Jhamel is decided to help her brother using the tele presence unit in Enterprise.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Senator Vrax (Geno Silva), fresh from the Romulan Senate, is disappointed that Admiral Valdore (Brian Thompson) and scientist Nijil's (J. Michael Flynn) drone program has failed to provoke a rift between Human, Andorian, Vulcan and Tellarite races as they had hoped (seen in "Babel One" and "United"). In fact, the opposite has happened - political discord throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrants has declined. Now that a second drone vessel is ready to be launched, Valdore suggests a mission against the Enterprise in order to impress the Senate. Nijil argues that the pilot requires time to recover from his previous exertions, but Valdore insists and prioritizes the mission. Valdore asks Nijil to increase the stimulant dosage to the drone pilot, even after Nijil argues that the dosage is already very high.. the drone pilot could die piloting 2 ships at the same time.
On Enterprise, analysis of data gathered in the previous encounter with the Romulan ship reveals that the ship is being piloted telepathically by an Andorian (based on the brain wave patterns detected in the drone ship by Tucker and Reed). Commander Shran (Jeffrey Combs) explains that the data indicates that the pilot is probably a member of the Aenar, a white-skinned and blind Andorian sub-race. This, however, seems unlikely, since the Aenar are few in number, reclusive pacifists, and inhabitants of the isolated extreme northern polar region of their moon. Shran and Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) then beam down to contact the Aenar. Shran guides Archer into the lunar caves where there is enough heat for mammals to survive. Shran is still unbalanced after the loss of his antenna, and ends up falling and damaging his leg. The Aenar's (who are telepathic) spokesperson, Lissan (Alicia Adams), initially declines to assist (but they provide medical attention to Shran) as the Aenar do not want to get involved in a war. However, a young Aenar named Jhamel (Alexandra Lydon) decides to help, since doing so may help locate Gareb (Scott Allen Rinker), her missing brother (who was suspected to be killed one yr ago in a boring accident on the surface of the moon).
Meanwhile, Doctor Phlox (John Billingsley), Commander T'Pol (Jolene Blalock), and Commander Charles "Trip" Tucker III (Connor Trinneer) work in Sickbay on their own "telepresence" unit to help counter the drone ship. T'Pol volunteers to test it, and a concerned Tucker finds it increasingly difficult to balance his duties and emotions towards T'POl (now that she is no longer married, but is still a Vulcan and emotionally unavailable to Tucker). Tucker tries to protect T'Pol from taking high risks, but T"Pol uses her logic to shut tucker down, without any consideration to his feelings. T'Pol is not able to interface properly with the unit (her synaptic response grow erratic) and this seems to be a dead-end.
Jhamel then tests the unit, with better results. Later, when the drone ships reappear and attack, she is able to contact the drone pilot, and it is indeed her long-lost brother, who was tricked into working with the Romulans. Learning the deception of his "helpers" (who told him that he was the last surviving Aenar, and offered him a chance at revenge), he turns the drones on each other and both are soon destroyed, and Valdore angrily kills him in retribution. With the threat resolved, the Andorians depart Enterprise and Tucker requests to leave the ship to join the Columbia.
