Typical busy and solid episode

A lady is tossed from a motorcycle and lands on her derriere in the middle of a cactus patch ! Yee-Ouch!

The poor woman has dozens of cactus-needles stuck in her bottom and backside and she is given 5mg of valium! A measly yellow valium for a butt full of thorns?

Yikes

Next, some men are trying to attach a large metal advertising sign to some brackets on the side of a brick building. The sign is hanging from a truck-crane quite a ways up. The crane controls don't work due to a broken hydraulic hose,so the sign is swinging in the wind, threatening to smash the men against the building! The men are basically hanging onto the wall-brackets that are attached to the building. The emergency crew arrives and heads to the roof. Now the very first thing I would do would be to drop a secure rope/line to each of the men, asap. (Watch how long it takes for them to get around to doing this) Eventually the sign-workers are rescued.

Next,Nurse Dixie McCall breaks an ankle and leaves the ER in the charge of nurse Betty. Betty is Dena Dietrich, and my goodness from the IMDB pic it looks like Ms Dietrich portrayed "Mother Nature" on the silly 1970's Chiffon margarine commercials. "It's not NICE to fool Mother Nature !" (You can't make this stuff up) Next,a guy is found passed out in his home sauna by his wife,(the lady that played the sauna-man's wife is the same actress that portrayed Andy Griffith's girlfriend and Opie's teacher on the Andy Griffith show.) and he is taken to Rampart. There he makes a quick recovery and he is diagnosed with 'Addison's disease' !(?)

The docs talk to him about treatment as the man hot-foots it out the door.

Next, the firemen get called to a house with a gas leak.

Odd as it sounds, they seemed resigned to the idea that the building was going to explode, and it was a race to get people out before it all blew up!

Paramedic Johnny Gage doesn't get out of the building in time, and he is tossed down the stairs from the explosion! From the view of the explosion outside of the building,it seems doubtful than anyone would survive the explosion inside the building! Johnny somehow does survive the explosion but he does end up in traction at Rampart, from his rolling tumble down the stairs.

Busy busy episode.
