Jorja Fox, whose credit so far on the series was listed as Jorjan Fox, finally gets her name spelled correctly in the opening credits.
This is not accurate. She wanted to be credited as "Jorjan." The switch was intentional as she decided to re-brand her name at this point in her career.

At the time of this episode's filming in 1996 a lot was still unknown about the risk factors for an HIV positive person with an undetectable viral load regarding transmission, but a lot has been learned since then. In the 25 years since a number of clinical studies have shown that someone with HIV, who is taking antiretroviral medication, and has an undetectable viral load is not capable of transmitting HIV via unprotected sexual contact; in 2020 the CDC updated its HIV guidelines to reflect this. Additional studies are being done to determine the risk factors for transmitting HIV with an undetectable viral load via direct blood contact, like drug users sharing needles, or an accidental needle stick in a healthcare setting; while these studies are still ongoing as of 2022 early data shows that the risk is significantly lower in someone with no viral load. To this date there has only been 58 documented cases of healthcare workers being infected with HIV through patient contact and only one documented case of an HIV positive healthcare worker transmitting HIV to a patient in the 35 years since the CDC began recording data; and all of these cases involved people who were either not being treated for HIV or were not responding to treatment and therefore had a high viral load. There have been no documented cases of an HIV positive person with no viral load transmitting HIV to another person via accidental exposure.
This is a Christmas episode.
