  • To everyone's amazement, Lewis makes a date to share a home-cooked dinner with the elderly Ben Hollander, her depressed patient who is going blind.
  • Alex has no minder, so Sam leaves him in ER, where he eagerly tails amused Luka, who finds him as curious as fearless, even with a dying patient, and treats him to a cool skull scan. Luka persists in avoiding unnecessary, expensive tests, even after in his student Cooper's unclear appendix patient's case that happens to force Corday to perform heavier surgery. A juvenile convict brought in after a fight is reluctant to have his wounds examined, which indicate rape, and the tests conclude AIDS. Lewis's terminal senior patient Ben Hollander is delighted with the puppy she gave him but after she finds regular treatment is no longer required, he cancels the dinner he promised and shoots himself in the brain, she respects his DNR. Romano's rule of terror inspires Lewis to hide his hand prosthesis, he openly works on a case file to have Pratt fired 'before he infects all staff'.—KGF Vissers
