- Doris, Buck and Aggie are cleaning out the attic to find items to donate to the church's white elephant sale, when Buck comes across an old side table, which, although in need of some repairs, is an expensive family heirloom. As such, Buck decides to take the table down to store in the barn so that he can fix it up at a later date. While the three leave for the church with their donations, Billy and Toby are setting up a lemonade stand. Finding the table in the barn, they use it for their stand. A pair of elderly spinster sisters, Gertie and Bertie Fields, are driving by lost and ask for directions, when they spot the table and know its value. They are a pair of shysters, who look for valuable antiques at garage sales, buying these items for a song from their unsuspecting current owners. Despite the boys being told not to take things that don't belong to them, they sell the table to the Fields for $5, the boys believing they are doing a good thing for their grandfather as well as the sisters, who portray themselves as poor old women who can't afford new things. When Doris, Buck and Aggie come home and find what the boys have done, Buck is sad while Doris is dismayed and angry about the situation. But when they find out that the sisters are coming back later in order to buy an expensive antique potbellied stove that Billy and Toby showed them in the attic - that piece which is more valuable than the table - Doris figures she may have a way to get the table back by giving the sisters exactly what they want by being the country hicks who the sisters believe the Martins to be.—Huggo
