The Tomb of the Cybermen: Episode 1

Doctor Who

Edit

Revealing mistakes

When the Doctor and Jamie try to pull open the entrance to the tomb, they both hold the door shut with their feet to give the impression that the door is stuck.

Plot holes

There are large pictures of Cybermen clearly visible all around the entrance to the tomb, yet the Doctor does not react to them, and only becomes upset when he is told that the tomb is related to the Cybermen.

Boom mic visible

In the scene where Victoria and the scientists find the Projection Chamber, the shadow of a boom-mic can be seen behind her head.

Character error

The story takes place on the planet Telos, which the archaeologists tell the TARDIS crew is the home world of the Cybermen. The Cybermen were previously established as having originated from the planet Mondas. Later stories would attempt to reconcile these two accounts.
The leader of the expedition says they must be back to their ship by 16:30, so they will meet at 16:25 to give them an hour to look for any stragglers. 16:25 is five minutes from 16:30, not an hour.
The archaeologist suggests converting binary to digital code. Binary is a digital code. The phrase the archaeologist uses is meaningless technobabble.
