When Ritchie is quizing his parent about middle names, he gives three examples, the third of which is Lucas Joseph (a mumbled last name that sound very similar to Creiner). Show creator and episode writer Carl Reiner's youngest son name is Lucas Joseph. He was about two years old at the time.
The title is based on a quote from William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet."

When you see the older office in a flashback, it is a different piano. it's lighter in color and taller. it can be seen briefly when Rob lectures Laura about safe driving. The office that the writer's have in the newer office is a smaller spinet piano.
